Our Approach
We customize and personalize learning through purposeful practices and passion-based enrichment offerings that align to the principles of mastery-based education, and hands-on experiential lessons that will produce independent and future ready children with strong moral character. Using thoughtful techniques, we guide the children in HOW to learn, so that they develop a love for learning, and are excited to dive deep into concepts to discover their passions and explore their interests. We are NOT a virtual program; we believe that getting children together, engaging, and socializing for in-person learning is the most beneficial way to develop skills, character, and mental health.
Livewell supports our student members to thrive in every aspect of life. They learn beyond the walls of brick-and-mortar studio with an education and support tailored to meet their needs and a deeply connected student and parent community.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
We work hard to cultivate wonder and virtue in our members. We are purposeful about nurturing to life the good character qualities that we want to see grow and blossom. We consider character traits to be habits; habits of thought and habits of deed. We assist parents in guiding their children into habits of gentleness, courtesy, candor, respect for others, and truthfulness.
PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
Research shows that learning through projects is not simply more fun & engaging for kids. Project-based learning also leads to deeper understanding of concepts and skills, because children need to apply their learning to a real-world situation. Creating projects also helps children build key skills for future success, such as goal setting, project management, and giving & getting feedback
PROMOTING EXCELLENCE & MASTERY
We support our members in mastery learning so they achieve a mastery level (at least 84%) before progressing to the next concept, level, or stage of a subject or project. Our strategies are designed to help our members develop grit, perseverance, and excellence that naturally raises achievement and increases the child’s performance.
FOSTERING CREATIVITY
The world needs a new generation of creative and critical thinkers. Creativity is a key skill for future success and personal fulfillment. At Livewell we work hard to cultivate wonder and virtue in our members.
CRITICAL THINKING
Critical thinking and problem solving are important survival skills. The Socratic Method is one of many forms of inductive teaching or discovery learning that allow children to make a discovery through their own efforts, not through the passive reception of information. Our leaner-led environment is ripe for this type of discovery!
Guides Not Teachers
Educators are rethinking their roles to focus more on mentoring and guiding than teaching. At Livewell, we’ve reimagined that “classroom”. When you choose to homeschool, life becomes the new classroom. There are lessons and learning that happen everywhere, and at all times. Our Guides bring those lessons into focus. Previously teachers were seen as content experts who transmitted knowledge to students. Modern advances in technology have made it possible for our Guides to focus more on empowering students to achieve their goals. As a result, our Livewell Lions and Cubs have increased confidence, increasing self-awareness, impressive emotional and behavior regulation, and improved performance. Our Guides work with our members to help them to solve problems, resolve conflict, answer their own questions, and dig deeper in research, by helping them develop very purposeful critical thinking and problem solving skills. Our Guides work side by side our members to help them grow and deepen their understanding and mastery. 1:1 Tutoring Support is provided when additional academic support is needed.

Our Standards
We are a membership-based private community that respects the rights and preferences of parents. We also respect religious and medical freedoms. We work to ensure that every member feels safe and secure when they are with us while respecting these freedoms. The following principles will always be upheld in our studio:
1. Children at Livewell are free to be innocent, well-adjusted children. The experience at Livewell will not rob them of their innocence nor will we ever impart our beliefs on them, and discuss topics that should be addressed by parents, at home.
2. To be respectful and considerate of all religions, Livewell does not celebrate or promote any holidays.
3. We refrain from discussing trending topics, political/politically charged topics, trending controversial issues, and traumatic current events. Sensitive topics typically take time and understanding to diffuse. Knowing that, we are very purposeful about what is discussed in the Studio, and we may “sit” on a topic to digest and observe it before it becomes worthy of Studio discussion.
4. Our Guides and Leaders do not influence or program the children to have any specific belief about moral, philosophical, political issues/topics or worldview.
5. We expect parents to create the moral framework and value system at home. At Livewell we do NOT teach our children WHAT to think, rather teach them HOW to think… and that it is important to respect others with differing opinions. The children are encouraged to always seek to be understanding of other positions, and to treat everyone respectfully, without judgement.
6. Our members will never be subjected to obscene sex education.
